Plastics Recyclers Europe will celebarte its 20th Anniversary!

Plastics Recyclers Europe is celebrating its 20th Anniversary during its Annual Meeting on 16 and 17 June in Cascais, Portugal. The annual event of plastics recyclers features Working Group meetings reserved for the members of the association on the first day and on the second day conference entitled: 
Quality sorting – key for higher recycling rates.

This year, the key speech will be given by Julio Garcia Burgués - Head of Unit, Waste Management & Recycling at the DG Environment, European Commission. The speakers of the conference will cover, among others, the following topics: circular economy, plastics products,  plastics waste management, with a special focus on sorting. 
Last year event gathered around 200 delegates representing the whole plastics value chain as well as politicians, representatives of authorities, decision makers, researchers and academics. Plastics Recyclers Europe was honoured to have Karmenu Vella - Commissioner for Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, opening the event.

The organisers of the PRS Europe event, Crain Communications Ltd and the Plastics Recyclers Europe Association would like to make the following statement.


The demand for recycled plastics has not been negatively affected due to low oil prices. Some media claim that the plastics recycling market is affected by a decrease in the oil price. However, this situation does not reflect the general situation of European plastics recyclers, only certain companies who are exposed to exports of plastics.
